Weatherford City Manager Assumes the Duties of Chairperson for the 2011-12 United Way of Parker County Campaign
Jerry Blaisdell, City Manager for the City of Weatherford, has assumed the duties of Chairperson for the United Way of Parker County campaign set to begin on September 1, 2011. Serving in this capacity for the next 4 months, Blaisdell succeeds longtime Weatherford businessman Charlie Martinez, who served as the 2010 Chair. The volunteer Board is comprised of 18 business owners, career professionals, community volunteers, and retirees.
“As such services and organizations are in need more than ever, it’s an honor for me to accept the challenge as Campaign Chair for the 2011 United Way of Parker County annual campaign,” said Blaisdell. “Our community is full of some of the most generous and giving people I have ever seen, this opportunity will allow me the fortune to experience that even more so.”

The 2011-2012 Board of Directors for United Way of Parker County are as follows: Pat Deen, Tanya Hodges, Lindsey Hull, Brittany Jones, Nan Kingsley, Justin Lisle, Steve Milliken, Linda Moss, Howard McClurkin, Ronica Patterson, Britton Schweitzer, and Michelle Tompkins
During their tenure, members of the Board will determine policies, procedures and regulations for the conduct of the United Way as well as help raise funds to finance the organization and its programs.
The United Way of Parker County was established in 2000. The mission if the organization is to improve lives and build a stronger healthier community. United Way supports many programs and services that are not just temporary measures, but ultimately preventative ones that create real and lasting change by improving lives.
The United Way of Parker County allocates the funds raised each year during its campaign to nonprofit agencies that serve Parker County residents. Since it was established, the United Way of Parker County has invested over $2,000,000 in programs that addressed health and wellness, education and youth, seniors, and families in crisis.
